Noble Energy, Inc. I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical) Technician III in Greeley, Colorado
Responsible for the maintenance, testing, and repair and startup of electrical distribution, control systems, measurement equipment, and instrumentation components at multiple facilities with the DJ Basin in Colorado.
Proactively identifies ways to improve and enhance practices and procedures to ensure sound health, safety and environmental conditions.
Assists with operating and troubleshooting production facility equipment and LACTs according to established safety rules and regulations to provide uninterrupted production volumes.
Completes field operations in accordance with Noble Energy's EHS policies and procedures.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Typically requires no less than 8 years of Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical experience with at least 5 years within the Oil and Gas Industry
Technical certification as normally acquired per a 2-year course of study in applicable field or equivalent experience preferred.
Can independently perform pre-commissioning and commissioning for new equipment.
Performs shutdown tests, inspections, maintenance and calibration on critical equipment safety and DOT devices. These include fire and gas safety systems, shutdown valves, and various instrumentation.
Must be familiar with calibration of static pressure, differential pressure, level, safety, and temperature transmitters.
Performs regular maintenance and troubleshooting for processing facilities, LACT unit control and measurement flow computer systems, motor control circuits, variable frequency drives, and communication systems.
Must be able to efficiently interpret one-line diagrams, loop sheets, and control system schematics.
Able to proficiently use and understand multi-meter and meggar devices.
Ability to assist with pneumatic control maintenance.
Working with SCADA systems experience is preferable.
Must have knowledge of generator controls, PLC, SCADA, Telemetry and computers.
Will be required to provide inspections, final sign off and documentation for pre-startup safety review meetings.
Physical ability to perform routine maintenance will be required.
Ability to work significant amount of time as required in completing job responsibilities.
Ability to work on-call rotating weekend and night shifts.
Must be willing to work core company hours and/or according to construction, startup, or turndown scheduled times.
Daily driving of approximately 90 miles or more as required completing assigned jobs and/or repairs.
Exposure to and driving in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, sun, rain, hail, sleet, high winds, etc. to run well routes and inspect and repair equipment.
Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required. Also includes working with moving machinery/equipment parts for which extreme caution must be taken.
Must wear properly maintained Personal Protection Equipment.
Regular bending, lifting up to (25 Pounds) without assistance and approximately (100) pounds with assistance) crouching, pulling and kneeling to check equipment and gauges and perform repairs.
