The Geoscience Application Specialist will participate in the developing and maintaining of data analysis solutions; effectively communication with the user community for requirements; design and implement business intelligence processes and programs based on the requirements; work effectively in a team environment to elevate the data driven knowledge and decisions of the geoscience staff in the Geologic/Geophysical/GIS data life cycle

Detailed Description

  • Apply quality assurance and data governance strategies to build environment of quality data enhancing the trust of the user community; utilize ETL strategies and processes to insure data quality and repeatable processes; provide integration and communication of subsurface data and databases across enterprise

  • Utilizing our evergreen environment to deliver dashboards and analytic scorecards to the various business units; integrate location intelligence into the data analysis to determine the where of the distribution, patterns, trends and anomalies

  • Monitor new technologies and make recommendations for further exploitation of existing technologies and data sources

  • Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons associated with company facilities

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with eight years oil & gas experience

  • Excellent knowledge of RDMS and SQL to query, integrate, report, analyze and extract knowledge and data from multiple sources

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical and software development skills

  • Above average knowledge of ESRI products

  • Above average knowledge of geological and engineering procedures and terminology

  • Proficient utilization of software applications, both multi-faceted and disciplined

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work productively in a team environment

  • Ability to provide business, technical mentoring and coaching to user community

  • Mastery of geologic software systems, terminology and procedures
