The Rotating Equipment and Reliability Engineering Advisor will serve as a company Subject Matter Expert (SME). Responsible for maintaining commodity intelligence for procurement, planning and budgeting; evaluating and eliminating incidents of lost production; identifying areas to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs; enhancing procurement strategies to ensure company efficiency and success.
Recommend and implement changes to rotating mechanical equipment to improve operability, reduce downtime and increase throughput.
Review, update and/or establish new/existing rotating equipment by engineering standards and purchase specifications.
Company resource, consultant, mentor, and coach.
Assesses critical rotating equipment performance and operation; identify opportunities for improvement and incorporate into long term reliability plans.
Perform market analysis and leverage supply chain knowledge to understand and articulate market trends for business planning and budget decisions. .
Reviews new rotating equipment technologies and how they may be applied, ensure that technology is applied uniformly throughout the facility.
Develops Maintenance strategies (Run to failure, Condition Based Monitoring, etc.).
Provides insight to enhance procurement strategies, processes, and synergies to ensure company efficiency and success.
Build, advance and maintain internal customer relationships. Recognized as the company’s focal point by the key stakeholders (proposals, engineering, operations, etc.) to aid with any project or operations related to the category.
Proactively pursue new opportunities in collaboration with business needs and objectives.
Work with the various leadership teams to proactively forecast, plan, and coordinate future business requirements to meet company objectives.
Develop and execute complex tender packages for Operations Services and Materials worldwide.
Ensure all tender packages follow all internal company procedures, laws, and regulations.
Evaluate all suppliers to achieve maximum value through quality, pricing, and terms.
Draft formal recommendations for contract awards to senior leadership as well as other internal stakeholders.
Prepare and negotiate complex contracts for Operations Services and Materials for global projects and alliance agreements to ensure project success.
Ensure that all business requirements are delivered with uncompromising quality, in accordance with the stakeholder’s expectations.
Responsible for leading formal supplier relationship management with key strategic suppliers and stakeholders.
Leads regular complex pricing negotiations with key strategic suppliers and manufacturers.
Proactively manages supplier qualifications regarding financial, safety, quality, logistics, and compliance risks.
Determine and manage periodic reporting requirements and all relevant performance metrics for major suppliers.
Manage and coordinate regular Key Performance Indicator reviews for strategic suppliers.
Accountable for providing market intelligence reports to BU stakeholders and senior management.
Proactively promote a professional procurement environment and ensures awareness of all procurement and business ethics policies.
Ensures that all relevant cost savings are being tracked and recorded.
B.S. degree in Engineering
10+ years of related experience
Professional Engineers (PE) License or equivalent preferred.
Expert in the field of Rotating equipment
Sound understanding of mechanical engineering and control systems with some instrumentation and electrical experience.
Knowledge of safety hazards associated with high speed industrial rotating equipment.
Knowledge of industrial rotating equipment failure modes.
