Advisor role is mainly responsible for providing Solutions Architecture for Operations applications. The role would include preparing application roadmaps that align with the corporate business strategy, business requirements, and culture. This position requires broad, hands-on experience with Upstream and Midstream Oil and Gas operations applications associated with Strategic Planning, Land, Production, Marketing, Operations, Maintenance, Environmental Health and Safety, and Engineering. The Advisor will be responsible for providing active and engaged leadership with business and IT teams relative to operations application and data strategy. Will collaborate with all Noble’s IT organizational departments and business partners to develop, document, implement, and monitor an integrated, holistic and consistent Solutions Architecture.
Determine overlaps and gaps with application functionality, right-size and standardize application use.
Develop, gain consensus for, and maintain a technology roadmap with consideration of business requirements and technology life cycles and include transition state architectures.
Assess when applications should be retired and manage the transition to a new system.
Evaluate information flows and integrations to ensure optimal configuration.
Establish and leverage key strategic vendor relationships.
Responsible for providing technical leadership to all projects within the assigned group.
Provides recommendations and assists in final determination of which technologies to use on new projects.
Acts as liaison with the Technical Services group and outside consultants to make sure that any work done outside the Operations Systems group is done correctly, meets Company standards, and meets the customer’s requirements.
Monitors and directs the activities of external service providers to make sure that their technology complies with Company standards and industry best practices.
Works with other groups within Noble IT to make sure the solutions are consistent with group policy.
Provides technical guidance in the transition to new processes where applicable.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, MIS, or Computer Science, or Engineering preferred
Typically requires 10 years of related experience with an emphasis on Operations application software and related technologies.
Or High School Diploma and 12 years of related experience
Strong experience in architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise applications and systems.
Ability to collaborate developing thought leadership work products such as strategies and roadmaps.
Ability to work with all management levels and influence enterprise technology decisions
Candidates must have an Oil and Gas industry experience with PPDM knowledge
Hands-on with design and modeling tools and languages
Systems thinking: the ability to see how parts interact with the whole
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
Knowledge of IT governance and operations
Self-directed, self-starter, and motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
