Noble Energy, Inc. Sr International Tax Analyst in Houston, Texas

  • Prepares international portions of federal income tax return; utilizes tax management software to prepare assigned tax forms. Prepares tax returns and related analysis work, consisting of reviewing financial accounting records, making adjustments for tax purposes and reaching a proper taxable income.

  • Maintains U.S. tax fixed assets in PowerTax for assigned foreign companies.

  • Assists with consolidation of the federal income tax return.

  • Assists and coordinates foreign corporate income tax compliance with foreign offices and foreign tax advisors.

  • Assists in the preparation of qualitative and quantitative responses to IRS and foreign audit inquiries.

  • Assists and reviews foreign tax provisions - identifies and analyzes book/tax differences for tax provision; Assists in review of return-to-provision analysis for foreign tax returns.

  • Assists with U.S. tax provision, including calculation of GILTI and FTC.

  • Maintains foreign tax credit support and assists in analyzing foreign tax credit position.

  • Assists with analysis of new and proposed tax legislation and works with business and corporate personnel to analyze data and propose solutions.

  • Seeks to improve the financial and tax accounting systems and their relationship to tax return preparation.

  • Assists with presentations for management, Audit Committee and Board of Directors.

  • Assists and interacts with IT personnel to develop, modify and maintain tax-reporting systems for income tax reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferred, or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Mathematics with a minor in Accounting or a minimum of 15 credit hours in Accounting, and six or more years of experience in a tax related field.

  • Ability to research and interpret tax codes

  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle a/o PeopleSoft)

  • Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing software

  • Has general knowledge of tax law and research capabilities as well as a good working knowledge of regulations and concepts of FASB and SEC pronouncements.
