Noble Energy, Inc. Community Affairs Coordinator in Pecos, Texas

The role of the Community Relations Coordinator/Sr Coordinator is to build and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders including civic and community groups, non-governmental organizations, and local officials and to develop and execute local community relations and stakeholder engagement strategies. The incumbent will report to the Senior Advisor/Manager, Government and Community Relations to deliver strategic local community relations and corporate social responsibility/social investment programs, including NobleACTS, the company’s global matching gifts program and volunteerism within the assets.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company strategy, objectives, Texas priorities, local issues and organizations

  • Develop internal relationships to support the business

  • Develop and implement local community stakeholder engagement strategies

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with local community including elected officials in Pecos, Midland and Odessa, Texas, Reeves County and other jurisdictions

  • Develop and maintain relationships with non-profit, civic and community groups

  • Build relationships with industry community affairs and government relations colleagues in the region

  • Attend local government (city and county) meetings within NBL and NBLX footprint

  • Identify key issues, risks and opportunities in the region and develops recommendations on external positioning

  • Manage stakeholder database and relationship maps

  • Support local corporate social responsibility programs which includes coordination of internal and public events

  • Assist in the management of the social investment process and delivery of the annual plans and budgets

  • Manage the budget tracking of the social investment program

  • Develop opportunities and recruit employee volunteers for various community outreach programs

  • Plan and execute employee engagement, volunteer and sponsorship events

  • Organize and participate in tours for stakeholders, community members and the media, as appropriate

  • Coordinate with Corporate Communications for the development of collateral and briefing materials.

  • Provide suggested content to Corporate Communications for Noble’s external and internal communications channels

  • Advise Corporate Communications on best approach to communicate with local communities

  • Monitor local and regional media

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Typically requires 5 years of Community Relations or related experience

  • Energy industry experience preferred

  • Participate as an effective and collaborative member of a team

  • Strong demonstrated ability to confidently communicate, prioritize and organize

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks often within tight deadline

  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs, tight deadlines, and time pressures

  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and other stakeholders

  • Ability to build strong relationships within the team

  • Ability to work in Pecos, Texas three days a week, but can live in the Permian Basin area - Midland/Odessa/Ft. Stockton etc.
